Idols of Mud

Industrial Stoner Rock / Cyber-Grunge

Authority depends on looking permanent. Here, that illusion breaks. The court still stands, the symbols remain, but the power behind them has lost its claim to obedience.

Once legitimacy disappears, law becomes ritual and command becomes theatre. The structures built to judge, govern and control are exposed as temporary things held together by belief. The idols were never stone. They were mud.

Lyrics

Look at the giant hands

Sticking out of the sand

Holding nothing but air

No one left to care

The marble is cracking

The system is lacking

The throne is empty on the top of the dune

Singing a dead tune

Tearing the paper, dropping the cash

Turning the verdict into ash

Idols of mud!

Sinking away in the flood

Idols of mud!

Your law is dust

Your law is dust

Silence in the court

Where is your judge now?

With the sweat on his brow

The wig is infested

The power is tested

We watch the columns, we watch the stone

You are dying alone

On a velvet throne

Brick by brick, lie by lie

Watch the institution die

Brick by brick, lie by lie

Stare at the sky!

Idols of mud!

Sinking away in the flood

Idols of mud!

Your law is dust

Your law is dust

Silence in the court

Silence in the court

Silence in the court

The law is dead

The law is dead

Order, control, command, collapse

Order, control, command, collapse

Idols of mud!

Idols of mud!

Your law is dust

Your law is dust

Silence in the court

Silence in the court

Silence in the court
